Things that our family members have done this weekend:

* played at a  friend’s house.
* read a book at the elementary school for Read Across America.

*Had a church yard sale.
*Read a lot about restaurants at Disney World.

* Booked a Disney vacation.
*Watched Up for the first time.  It’s about time!

* Tried to not cry during Up.
* Slept on the floor in the Living Room.

*Played a lot outside.
* Took a major nap on the couch. 
 
*Baked cookies.
*Taught Sunday School.

*Enjoyed a great worship service.
* Washed a sink full of dishes… several times.

Plus much more!  I’m praying for a good week and that the 2.5 hour nap that Luke took and all the cuddling that he did and the fussing he did about his mouth doesn’t mean he has strep throat!

The kids did a good job and Luke actually sang!

My assistant teacher told Luke earlier in the week that she would give him a treat if he sang.  So, right in the middle of the program he looked at her and said “Can I get my treat?”  It was too cute.  He knew he was doing a good thing by singing his little songs.

You can see around the middle of the video Luke spots Dan and lets his little friend know where his daddy is!

Here’s Luke and the most gorgeous dog that wandered up to our house this weekend. He loved that dog and is giving her a kiss as Dan was about to take her to the vet to see if she was microchiped. She wasn’t, but managed to find her way home (or so we hope). She was so sweet and we all enjoyed her little visit this weekend… especially Luke!

It almost arrived yesterday, but  quickly left.

Mornings are crazy! Two kids, getting everyone dressed, feeding everyone breakfast, brushing teeth and hair, packing lunches…

Dan typically takes D3 to school while L and I finish getting ready and then we head out to preschool. Before we left this morning Luke said, “Take a picture of me and Jack.” So I did.

Off we went to preschool for the morning. We sang and had circle time, danced and practiced recognizing our letters. We played on the playground and wrote our names, we made rainbow bracelets and a rainbow book. We ate lunch and snack, we went to the library and had calendar time. Sounds like a normal day of preschool!

We are having an upcoming Spring Program and we have to make t-shirts. I was assigned a daisy and am having a hard time trying to make a decent looking shirt! This is it so far.

It looks like a fried egg! Maybe I can improve upon it by next week. Ugh!

After school Luke and I headed to the store to buy some baseball things for D3. He has baseball tryouts on Saturday and needed some cleats.

We left the store and headed to Daniel’s school to pick him up. Luke fell asleep on the way to school and napped in the car while we waited on D3.

He didn’t even wake up when we got home, so I put him in his bed.

Then a small miracle happened. We got home and Daniel decided the first thing he should do is work on his homework! I think I heard a chorus of angels singing. He didn’t even complain! It was such a happy moment at our house. J

After homework Daniel played on the computer while Luke was still napping! So I sat and watched my recorded Oprah from Friday. Lady Antebellum performed and I love them! Who needs to tackle a mountain of laundry when you can sit and watch Lady Antebellum, right?

Then I started working on dinner while the boys played outside.  I think that this afternoon might have been the end of our small bit of warmer weather.  At least the boys were able to enjoy it!

I tried to take a picture of dinner, but it looked really awful. It was a good dinner though, I promise. J We had breakfast for dinner- Sausage and Grit Casserole. So yummy- unhealthy, but yummy.

Now I’m about to finish cleaning the kitchen and then I’m sitting down for LOST!

LOVE that crazy, confusing show!

Hope everyone has had a good Tuesday!

Well, the snow day and frankly some weekend days have made me think about summer when both of my boys will be home. When they are together they are either giggling the entire day (which totally sounds like that would be cute, but after hour 3 of nonstop silly giggling it’s much less cute) or wrestling (they can’t be alone together for more than 2 minutes without rolling on the floor wrestling) or fussing/crying/fighting… I have to have a plan!

So, I’m going to let my teacher-self come out at home and plan my days.

Just nod your head and smile and make me feel like this will actually work and not disintegrate after week one… or day one for that matter.

I’m still working this out in my head, but I am envisioning a poster board with the cute little library pockets with a day on each pocket. Inside will be ideas for the day that we can pick out of the pocket and do. I’m thinking Movie Time Monday (go the library a check out books/movies), Terrific Tuesday (some sort of outing- park, zoo, etc.) Wacky Wednesday (water play, some sort of sensory play) I also want to work house cleaning and errands into this one, Theme Day Thursday (Pajama Day, Ice cream Day, Sixties day, etc.- we’ll do all sorts of things around the theme). I’ll also have an ‘I need to find something to do’ pocket for those times when “There’s nothing to do!”

I dunno, it sounds good now.

I’ll have to update when I make this lovely chart. And then when we put it to work. Or it may never be mentioned again… who knows! J

We had a great time on Friday. I could never live up north! We had so much laundry after our bit of time of the snow!

And while we all enjoyed our Snow Day I am so ready to say ’so long’ to winter! I’m ready for Spring weather and temperatures out of the 30s/40s!

Now I have to learn how to use it. J

Apparently Valentine’s Day means food to me, because I made the boys heart pancakes for breakfast:

Then Luke and I made cupcakes:

Luke was a really big help making the cupcakes and he put all the toothpicks in too. J

We got the boys the Dr. Seuss book The Lorax (we all really like that book!) and D3 got the Lorax stuffed animal and Luke got the character from The Foot Book. Kohl’s had Dr. Seuss books as part of their Kohl’s Cares for Kids this month. They always have a book and matching stuffed animal for $5 each. All of the money goes to children’s charities. They make such great gifts!

I think they liked their little animals.
