Stolen…

I really don’t want to particularly do a blog post about the fact that some guy {or gal} stole my purse from my car… sitting in my driveway… directly beside the room in which I was sleeping.

I don’t want to admit what a super lapse in judgment I had leaving a good chunk of money in my purse… in my unlocked car.

And I don’t want to think about getting up and discovering what had happened and feeling a major vulnerability knowing all of my personal belongings from my purse were strewn all across a block of our town… but I didn’t know which block.

And I really don’t want to think about people’s homes that have been broken into and what a horrible feeling of violation that must be.

Thankfully we have a very caring and helpful police department.

Thankfully the cash hungry thief didn’t recognize my cash when he saw it.

Thankfully everything from my purse was returned, except my camera.

Thankfully my cell phone has an okay camera until I can replace my stolen one.

Thankfully there are thankfullys to my story.

This week I am…

SICK of Easter candy. Oh my goodness my kids consumed WAY too much candy over the weekend and Luke especially was CRAZY! Whoever says sugar doesn’t affect kids has not been around my kiddos!!

THANKFUL that we were spared during the tornados this week. Somehow those tornados stayed to the north of us. But we are praying for the people to the north of us that were devastated by the awful storms! What an awful day for this state.

LOVING Kate Middleton and Prince William. She was stunning in that dress! They seem like such a wonderful couple. I didn’t get into all of the beforehand speculations- which all the press drove me crazy. But the wedding itself was gorgeous. And thank goodness for Tivo. J

When the Coast is Clear…

We watched the Jimmy Buffett concert on CMT last Sunday night.  I loved that he put on a free concert to bring support to the people and businesses of the Gulf Coast.   The concert was great and I really wish I could have been there to show support!

By far my favorite moment was the last song, When the Coast is Clear.  I loved, loved, loved the new Gulf Coast lyrics.

The temporary cap seems to be working for the time being, but the Gulf Coast region is certainly still in need support in the way of finances, clean up and lots of prayer.

Go Gators…

During some downtime after our Disney trip, we went and spent the day with Dan’s brother and his family and headed to Dan’s beloved Swamp.

We walked around and took some pictures.

The cousins were being exceptionally cute that day.

Luke showed his Gator enthusiasm and modeled for us how to properly do the Gator chomp.

His Daddy was proud. J

Beautiful beaches…

I moved there as a 3rd grader.

I spent many weekends and summers lying out there.

I sometimes did my homework there as a high-schooler.

I visited my grandparents there as they visited for a month each year.

I went to dinner many times at some of my favorite restaurants there.

I got engaged there 10 years ago.

We had our rehearsal dinner there.

We walked there every night for while as a newly married couple.

We started our family while living there.

After moving away for a year, we moved our family back there.

After moving away again, our family visited there last year.

And now it is being forever changed by an oil hungry accident.

The whole thing really just breaks my heart and these are only a few memories for me and the beaches that I grew up around.

I pray for the whole gulf coast region and all of the families that have been affected by this awful spill.
