Three Random Things, take five…

  1. After a beautiful weekend with temps in the 60s, it snowed on Wednesday! It didn’t stick, but it did put a smile on certain children’s faces. J You can barely see the snowflakes, but they are there!

2. My fried egg t-shirts are starting to look a bit more like a flower.

I’m still not thrilled with them, but the kids in my class will make the shirts look better, right?

3. I took a picture of D3′s homework that he was working on in my last post. Hope you can read it. He had to write a sentence with each of his vocabulary words.
I found it rather entertaining. J

Have a great weekend!!

Three Random things, take four…

One:  So, first of all- Kris won American Idol. Woot! Adam is super talented and I think he will do well, but I loved Kris’ humble ways and his music style. I love that the first thing he said was he thought Adam should have won.
My fav. song that he did:

Two:  D3 graduated Kindergarten. Maybe I should have listed this first… you can see where my mind is- ha! He had a great time singing his songs (he is such a performer!). He chose Logan’s for lunch after the ceremony and when we got there he informed the waitress that he had just graduated Kindergarten. He is so shy after all. She thought that was great, so he got a free dessert. The kid knows how to work it. ;)

Now he’s on summer break, so let’s all pray for a summer with more getting along and having fun than ‘he’s touching me! He’s in my room!’ :)

Three:  We are up to our eyeballs in packing! We’re packing for both our cruise not far away now! —–>

And for our move. We close the Monday after we get back! So, needless to say, our house looks like a hurricane has hit. I hate the disheveled look of a house when you’re moving. There is random stuff everywhere. But, we are super excited about our summer of big events!

Three random things, take three…

  1. Vicki earns 5 points for knowing that this thing:

Is the hole for Frisbee golf. It’s actually called a Pole Hole (who knew?). It’s an elevated metal basket that is the “hole” when playing Frisbee golf. Dan‘s brother gave it to him when we were visiting and he gave D3 some golf discs, which made D3′s day. He went to play one day with Dan and his brother and loved it. So, he was super excited to play when we got home.

I had never even heard of Frisbee Golf (I think you’re supposed to call it Disc Golf, because Frisbee is trademarked) until I met Dan. You play it sort of like regular golf, except you throw Frisbees. There’s actually a Professional Disc Golf Association. Their website tells about Disc Golf and you can find out where courses are near you. I used to go with Dan quite often when we lived in Florida (although I’ve never played).

  2. I actually won something! I never win anything. Sarah at Life in the Parsonage (cute blog!) was giving away the book The House That Cleans Itself and I won. Yay.

Now I’m going to have to actually organize and clean my house. Oh dear.

Just kidding. Hopefully this book will make it easier for me. The product description says that the book is for the housekeeping-impaired. That would be me. J

  3. D3 was in the Living Room earlier absolutely cackling at the TV. We went in and he was watching ALF. I don’t think I’ve seen this show since 1989! I used to love it. Ha!

D3 asked to set the TiVo up to record it.

This reminded me of prime time shows from my childhood that I could actually watch (unlike today) like Growing Pains and Who’s the Boss. Good ole 80′s TV.

Three Random things, take two…

1. I just made this for a Halloween get together we are going to:

It’s totally sinful, but looks yummy.

2. I just found out these are at our local library:

Woot! I literally cheered out loud when I saw online that these were at the library. We are going to check one out tomorrow. After watching Signing Time ABCs at least twice a day for the past two weeks, Momma’s ready for a new episode!

3. After making these with the kids today at school and seeing them posted on Betsy’s blog, I really want to make my own:

They are so pretty. Even the kiddy, spotty versions done at school were pretty.

Three Random things…

1. I officially LOVE www.zappos.com .

Last night about 9:00 I was watching Oprah from earlier in the day on TiVo. Her topic was Millionaire Moguls and she had the Olsen twins and a couple of other people, but the guy that really struck me with Tony Hsieh. At 24, he sold his internet company for$265 million. A year later he became the CEO of zappos.com.

He does not have a big corner office, he works in a cubicle like everyone else and he draws a salary of $36,000/year. He had such an enthusiasm for his company and it looked like a nice place to work. He is very passionate about good customer service. Here’s the link to a clip of the show.

So, I went to check out zappos last night after I watched the show. I wanted to get D3 some crocs for Christmas, so I found them on the site (on sale for $19-woot!) and went ahead and got them. The shipping is free at zappos.com, by the way. Anyway, I wake up this morning to an email saying that they upgraded my shipping for free and over-nighted the shoes. They are out for delivery in my area right now. They really do seem to view themselves as a service company that happens to sell shoes. I’m impressed.

2. Faith is having a giveaway on her blog.

She is giving away one her cute monogrammed totes. She is very talented and makes super cute stuff! Check it out!

3. B is in love with Signing Time. I posted this past weekend that we found this show and he really likes it. Well, he is now bringing me the remote and saying “C.” The only one we have is the ABC one and he LOVES it! He sings along and says each letter with her. He’s in the other room watching it now. I’ve got to get him more since he’s watching this ABC one every day. J

Have a great weekend!!
