Too bad I wasn’t able to post…

So, I really wanted to make of couple of posts, but I went out of town and wasn’t able to. Now it’s too late to talk about Christmas and the fact that D3 got an MP3 player with a clock radio from Santa and loved all his new songs so much that he slept with it.

And it’s much too late to bring up the fact the B ran into the living room on Christmas morning, jumped on his tricycle and refused to open any presents.

I wouldn’t want to bore anyone with Christmas in January.

I also let the new year pass me by as I was out of town. I really wanted to do one of those look back on 2008 posts, where I would talk about the fact that last February B and I got the flu (and he got pink eye, an ear infection, and strep throat), he was so miserable!

I would have also mentioned the fact that B started walking last year.

I probably would also have talked about the fact that D3 graduated preschool.

And then we went on summer vacation to Disney World and had possibly the best vacation ever.

I know I would have mentioned the big occasion of my first born going to Kindergarten. I’m still not sure how he is old enough for that!

I might have mentioned that B finally gave up his pacis this year also.

I would have ended that post saying something along the lines of how 2008 has been a big year at our house, as most are with little ones. And that time tends to fly too quickly when you have kids at home.

Too bad I was out of town and couldn’t share those posts.

A month of blogging…

Well, it’s been one month since my fabulous husband gave me this blog for my birthday.

Here are five things I’ve learned in my five week blogging adventure.

  1. I love a comment. I had heard that comments were bloggy crack.  I don’t know if they are that addictive, but comments are great.  I try to comment a lot more on the blogs that I read too. It’s nice to know someone’s reading what you wrote.
I tend to click, click, click and then not even know how I ended up on someone’s blog. Do you do this? I don’t know if I should preface my comment with how I found the blog or just leave a comment? Usually I just comment away. They probably wonder who in the heck I am. J
  2. Google Analytics is really cool.  It tells you all sorts of things about your blog.  Like the fact that a bunch of people apparently search the words “Our week in three words.”
  3. I love Google Reader.  I guess I’m into google all of a sudden?  I dunno. But it makes keeping up with the blogs that you follow so much easier. Bloglines is good too, but I like Google Reader better.
  4. I sometimes have a hard time coming up with a good title. Big Mama is the queen of awesome titles- if there were such a queen. Her titles are so creative.
  5. I have found yet another way to avoid housework.

Six Random Things…

I was tagged by Caroline.

She has such a sweet blog. I’m supposed to list six things about myself. So, here comes the randomness….

  1. I LOVE to go on vacation. I’m constantly wanting to plan a trip somewhere. We went to Disney this summer, which is one of our favorite places on earth. And I’m dying to go somewhere again already. Dan and I are in the middle of planning our anniversary get away and our cruise next summer to celebrate his graduation!!
  2. I hate sitting in traffic. Oh my goodness, my good side does not come out in sit-still traffic. Once Dan clicked through his cell phone to the games screen and handed it over to me in traffic. I didn’t even recognize I was being pacified like a kid for a minute.
  3. I detest the lunchable. I seriously went off on a 30 minute tangent the other night about my disdain for the lunchable. Now, deep theological matters I’m still trying to work out within myself, but the lunchable… I know I can’t stand.
  4. I love school supplies, paper, organizers… anything like that. If I would let myself, I could just go nuts in paper stores, party stores, The Container store. I don’t know why, but I just LOVE it. You’d think I’d be more organized.
  5. I am such a visual learner that it’s ridiculous. If there’s not a picture involved, I have a hard time staying interested. J Hence my pictures with each of my random things.
  6. I say “seriously” entirely too much. The other night the kids and I were waiting on my husband to join us at the dinner table for prayer. We looked over to see Dan making a pitcher of sweet tea and my five-year-old says (in his best Chandler Bing voice, even though he has no idea who that is) “Seriously. You HAVE to do that right now?” I thought I would die, hearing my voice coming out of my child’s mouth.

Thanks, Dan!

I have such a wonderful husband. Dan really spoiled me on my birthday this year. I got several nice presents, including this blog. {Granted I ruined the surprise by figuring it out several days early, but it was still an awesome birthday surprise} He surprised me by making me this website~ naming it and everything. I think he did a great job. Simply Cindy is a great name choice, because I tend to like things simple. I don’t always get simple with two little boys, but I sure like to try and simplify our lives!

Thanks so much Dan for being a great husband and father and for taking time out of your busy schedule to make something so thoughtful for me!! I love you!!
