Oh the joys of being a teacher! ;) We’re working on counting money in 2nd grade math and my word, it’s consuming my thoughts! Ha! Other things consuming my thoughts:
Taylor Swift’s new song. Love, love it!! I think it was the background music in my coin counting dream last night.

Oooo… I had never seen the video until I looked it up for this post. Cutie pie Matt Saracen from Friday Night Lights is in it! I miss that show. Best show ever.

Oh, and apparently Miley Cyrus has a country song. Who knew? Everyone but me, possibly?

I can’t get that video to center on the screen and that is really bothering me.

Dan has been painting our kitchen cabinets and they look great, but it has been taking forever {sorry babe, but it has}. His schedule is so crazy, so he’s only been able to work a bit here and there on them. He really has done a ton this weekend though.

Have I mentioned that Luke got his 5 year old shots last week and is now set for {and excited about} Kindergarten? I’m sure to mention it a few hundred more times between now and August when I become a sobbing blob because my baby is 5. He was just my baby in the basket yesterday, I’m almost positive.

A new family moved into our neighborhood and they have 4 children. My kids are beyond thrilled. They’ve never had kids nearby to play with, so this is a nice treat.

That baby picture is killing me. Look at those cheeks and little lips. Oh my goodness. Somebody give me a baby for a minute to rock and then give back.

I’ve started having the boys fold and put away their own laundry. If they get done with their clothes and cleaning their rooms {and maybe another chore or two} they can watch America’s Funniest Home videos {or “The Uh Oh Show” as it’s known here}. I’m loving it. :)

I’m happy that The Voice is back. I really like that show. I plan on it taking over American Idol’s place.

I should really go and get Daniel set up with homework. Joy of joys. Have I ever mentioned my love of homework? Can you hear the sarcasm in my typing?

  • Tonight is the season finale of Next Food Network Star. I hope Aarti wins.
  • Project Runway started again. I love this show as if I wear designer clothes and not capris and tshirts.

  • This is kinda’ like my love of HGTV and the Food Network- as if I decorate and cook.
  • I hope I’m all ready for Open House tomorrow. I’m not sharing my classroom this year, so I got to decorate it all myself. What fun!

  • Daniel is still loving second grade and I’m so glad! I think he might have a crush on his teacher, though. J
  • I’ve been thinking about making some resolutions in my life. Kinda’ like new year’s resolutions in August. I might need to make a separate blog post about this one.
  • I really want to watch The Last Song. This is another movie where I’ve read the book, but then missed the movie at the theater.

  • I wonder how Miley Cyrus does in this role.
  • I watched Message in a Bottle again last week. I alternate between wanting to hug and hit Nicholas Sparks. I LOVE his books, but every time they take a turn and get you all emotional and crying.
  • I just saw a recipe for Salsa Chicken and Ranch Florentine Tostadas and now I really want to make it. It looks so good.

    • I took a huge nap today and it was wonderful.
    • I woke up with that ‘where am I?’ ‘what time of day is it?’ feeling though.
    • I don’t like that feeling. Especially when my husband is heading out of the door and I can’t figure out where he’s going, because my head is still all foggy.
    • I’m so excited that fall is coming up. Even though it’s like 105 right now, cooler temperatures are coming!

    • Along with jeans and long sleeve shirts and pumpkins and yummy smelling candles and fun holidays…
    • I should go and fix my family something for dinner. Too bad it won’t be salsa chicken and ranch florentine tostadas.

  • The kids just started watching Inspector Gadget on Netflix and now I can’t get the ♫ song ♫ out of my head. I loved that show as a kid!

  • I’m thinking we need to fork out the money for a pool membership next summer. These 105° days stuck indoors with two rambunctious boys is for the birds!
  • I’m obsessed with planning our 10th anniversary weekend. I’m not really obsessed, but I want to get it figured out, so I keep coming up with different plans and trying to figure out the best one.  
  • I can’t believe that we got married almost 10 years ago! That’s crazy.

    • I’m a little sad that summer is coming to an end, but I’m really ready for more of a routine.
    • School starts this year on my birthday. How fun.
    • My baby is going to be a second grader. His last year at the Primary school. How on earth?

    • I’ve become one of those old people that can’t believe how fast time is moving.
    • ♫♫Do, do, do, do, do, Inspector Gadget… ♫♫
    • I took D3 to the doctor Friday and he has allergies and she put him on Claritin.
    • Just like both his mom and dad.

    • The doctor told him he was very smart, because he was having a conversation about grass allergies with her.
    • I wonder if he will be a doctor? I wonder what his future will bring?
    • I wonder if I have ADD the way my mind bounces all over the place?
    • I wonder if anyone will actually read a stream of my thoughts?

    • I’m excited to go to the lake and spend some time with my mom next week. And have the boys run around outdoors and swim.
    • I’ve spent half of my weekend reading my book and ignoring the enormous mountain of laundry I need to tackle.
    • How can four people accumulate so much laundry??
