Fo’ Real…

This is how my den looks at the moment.

Like a toy war zone.

Looks like the kids have some toy cleaning up in their future.

Me and the TV….

So, last night I vegged on the couch and watched two of my favorite shows. And I actually watched them live. Which is super rare since I am a huge fan of the TiVo.

First up was American Idol. I love Harry Connick, Jr. and thought he was a great mentor.

My top two are Lee and Crystal. I love them both.

I actually voted last night for the first time in ages. I voted like ten times for Lee- he was awesome last night.

Then I watched LOST.

I love that crazy show and can’t believe it’s almost over. It was so sad last night, though.

Like I said, I’m a huge fan of the TiVo. I think the DVR is one of the best inventions ever. It allows me to watch all my shows like:

How I Met Your Mother & The Big Bang Theory. Funny stuff.

And I can stay up to date on my Grey’s Anatomy and Brothers and Sisters drama as well.

And I would never watch this On-Demand:

Not me.

I think I *might* watch a little too much TV… but I’m okay with that. J

The blog posts that never were…

At times in my life I feel like things are rolling right along and we’re keeping our heads above water.  Then other times I feel like chores and errands and responsiblities mount up and loom over and I can’t keep up.  And I tend to get a bit stressed.  I guess everyone feels like this from time to time. Maybe this always comes with the end of the school year and I just block it out!

I’ve managed to keep some posts going around here, but they mostly revolve around picture with very few words!   I haven’t blogged as much as I would like to anyway.

Like I never blogged about the fact that Dan and I tried to do the Daniel Fast.

The Daniel Fast is a fast where you only eat fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

We lasted 5 days.  We were starved and abandoned the fast in favor of Weight Watchers which is actually going pretty well.

I feel like I was doing the Fast for the wrong reasons or it would have worked out better.  I wanted to loose some weight and really the fast should be done for spiritual reasons.

I also never blogged about our sanded and painted back door.  Actually I mentioned it a few weeks back.

It’s blue.

Very blue.

And the paint is thick.

Very thick.

But it’s no longer a peely and red.  And that’s a good thing, right?  Right?

Oh, I also never posted about Daniel getting better at baseball.

Something clicked with him and he figured out that he could hit the ball and actually got a single, triple, RBI, and crossed home plate last week.  We were thrilled!  And even better than that is that he is now excited to go to baseball and cheers on his team!  Yea D3!

I’m sure there are plenty of other things that have been “blog worthy” (or not so much, but whatever).  Oh, like I passed my Teacher Certification test and am now Certified!  That’s a biggie around here.

I’m going to try and do deep breathing and not stress during these last few weeks of school.  Maybe I should even try to enjoy it… there’s a concept!

Weekend by numbers…

The number of hours (at least) my kids spent playing outside in the beautiful weather!

The number of meals fixed for the family this weekend.

The number of times a day I have thought about eating a brownie… or anything other than a fruit, vegetable, or whole grain.  But, that’s a post for another day.

The number of hours we spent painting our back door and door frame.

The number of loads of laundry we washed this weekend.  And I’m still not caught up.  I can’t figure out how anyone gets caught up!

The number of hours we spent sanding down our back door and door frame.

Dan said we could never be on that decorating show where you have 3 days to completely re-do a room in your house since it took us 2 days to paint a door.  :)

The number of times Daniel connected with the ball at Baseball practice Sunday.  This is a big deal for him.  He’s having a hard time adjusting to machine pitched baseball.

The number of days D3 had off from school this weekend.

The number of mornings I was able to sleep until 8:00. This is really sleeping in since kids!

Great weekend!!

Peanut Butter Crackers…

My kids LOVE peanut butter. I guess most kids do.

Peanut butter and jelly, peanut butter and honey, peanut butter and banana, peanut butter crackers…

I got a kick out this the other day when I opened the jar of peanut butter.

Apparently little Luke our resident peanut butter cracker lover tried to fix himself a snack.

You never know what you might find around our house!
