Random Blogging…

Well, blogging in 2012 is non-existant so far! And it’s already the 15th day in – yikes! My first few days of January have been filled with strep throat and trying to get back to work. I had been off for over a month, so getting back into the swing of things has been challenging to say the least! In order to get a blogpost up, I’m going for random. When am I not random? I’m not so sure, but here we go…

* I’m blogging from my ipad for the first time. We will see if I’m capable of such a thing! :)

* We started off our year with Daniel getting strep throat and then I was next in line. It’s the total pits and I wish adults could recover as fast a kids!

*Daniel earned his purple belt in karate in December. He’s super proud and really enjoying karate.

* I might should not own up to the fact that I’m a soap fan, but I am and I’m sad that One Life to Live had their last episode Friday! I’ve watched that show my entire life {ratting you out there too, Momma :) } and it’s been my one that I’ve DVR’d since Daniel was born. It’s always been my kid naptime show. No more…

* Daniel got a few gift cards for his birthday and Christmas and was dying to spend them after Christmas. He had $65 and managed to buy $100 worth of Legos and a new game for his DS. That’s my bargain shopper! He was so excited to get 2 huge Lego sets for half off.

*Luke was also excited to use his gift cards… for what else? Batman, of course. They now make Batman legos. After Christmas. Guess who wants them all?

* We went to Golden Corral last night {we haven’t been in ages} and they now have a chocolate fountain that my kiddos thought was the best thing ever. There was ridiculous amounts of chocolate on our children and their plates!
Chocolate covered strawberries for my strawberry lover

*I need a lot more practice on this ipad blogging thing. I’m too used to my computer.

* Have I mentioned my love of teacher blogs? Since I got my new job they are saving me with there awesome activities! That and teacherspayteachers.com.

* Luke is really into The Magic Treehouse books right now. I thought he might want to read a chapter book and I was right. He is loving them. I had book 1 at school, so he wrote me a note the other day to put with my school things, so that I would bring the book home for him.

*That’s all for now!

Randomicity…

I am officially obsessed with this show. Thank you Netflix instant streaming. I just love it! I have zoomed through the first season and just started the second. Any time I have an extra minute, I’m watching an episode!

When I first heard of Pinterest, I just didn’t get the big deal. But now I’m on board! It’s such fun to collect little pins. Now we’ll see if I actually incorporate anything I’ve pinned into my life.

I’m way into teacher blogs right now too. There are a gobzillion of them! There are so many wonderful ideas out there. Some of them have been a lifesaver to me in my new job.

Luke starts soccer this Thursday. I’m so anxious to see how he does. Right now he is not excited, but that’s Luke for you. It will take him about 5 minutes into the first practice to like it. Well, that’s my guess anyway. Oh, and Dan’s coaching his team. J

College Football has started and therefore it should be cool and Fall outside. The end.

Randomness…

My mind is random mode here lately {what’s new??}, so here are some random happenings..

I made a yogurt pie last night, which is the easiest thing ever! My Mawmaw used the make these and they are so yummy. You can play a lot with the flavors, but I made Strawberry-Banana last night.

Yogurt Pie
2 6oz. containers of yogurt
1 small container Cool Whip
Graham Cracker crust

Mix yogurt and cool whip. Pour into crust. Refrigerate for at least an hour.

Luke has been singing the Doxology a lot lately, which is cracking me up. { Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.}

Daniel went on a field trip to Burger King a couple of weeks back for having so many Accelerated Reader points. He had the best time, of course. That boy has a ball everywhere he goes.

The boys had an inside picnic on Saturday. It was rainy all day, which is the pits for little boys on a Saturday. We set up a picnic in the den and they watched Gummi Bears while eating their lunch. We make sure that our kiddos watch the good old 80′s cartoons. J

Our school’s Spring Program is Thursday. We’ve been busy practicing songs {which I cannot get out of my head now!!} and making our t-shirts. I did a frog this year with the kids’ footprint.

I added grass to the boys’ shirts and a lily pad and flower on the girls’ shirts. I like how they turned out.

In the Company of Others: A Father Tim Novel

I’m hoping that I’ll be able to read the book above during Spring Break.  I’ve been trying to get it read for a little while and it’s not happening!  I really want to get back into the reading habit and I’m having the hardest time!

Speaking of Spring Break… I cannot wait! I’m so ready for a little vacation!

This {past} week…

Like all weeks , this past one was full of big things and small… ups and downs… trivial and not so trivial…

*I took my newest favorite picture of my two kiddos.

I know they are mine, but I sure do think they super cute kids!

*Dan went before the Board of Ordained Ministry and was approved as elder in full connection! Big news for my hard working hubby! Can’t wait for his Ordination ceremony in June! Congrats, babe!!

*Dan ended up getting the flu. Again. Unbelievable really. He was able to get into the Dr. and get Tamiflu this time, so it hasn’t been as bad as… I dunno… when he had it 5 weeks ago!!

*my kid’s ate smiley toast for breakfast.

*It rained and was cold every day. Ugh. I am not enjoying winter this year. I’m much more of a warm weather person than I realized! I’ve spent entirely too many years living in Florida to put up with cold weather now!

*My kids haven’t played outside in a week! This is never good. J Actually, they have been really good, but little boys need to RUN!

*the boys wanted their picture made with their Daddy when he got home from church Sunday night. They were already in their jammies.

Can you tell that they pick out their own pajamas? How many different patterns can they mix?

*Luke learned how to work the TiVo remote. Lord help us all.

*We busted out the Cars cars and car mat this week for Luke. Ever since he got Mater’s Tall Tales DVD for his birthday, he’s really been into Mater and the gang. And he has had Cars on repeat in the car for a while now. He’s loving it. J Daniel was really into Cars at the age too.

*Daniel has a report due next week on what career he wants when he grows up. He was trying to decide between Policeman, Pastor and Exterminator. Ha! This completely cracked me up. They have to dress up like their career choice, so I think he was wanting to wear a mullet wig and some leather. Ha! Too much Billy the Exterminator anyone?
{By the way, he chose Pastor}

Random is my middle name….

I have been listening to the new Taylor Swift CD on repeat. Love it! You can download it on amazon.com right now for $3.99! Can’t beat that.

This time change is killing me. I know I was supposed to get an extra hour of sleep in there, but no one gave that memo to my kids. Who got up at 5:00 on Sunday morning. And then 6:00 each morning after. I’m wiped by 8:00 each night!

We rented Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers from Netflix and the kids are loving it. J They are singing the theme song all the time now. Ch..ch..ch…Chip and Dale… Rescue Rangers….

Luke fell out of his bed AGAIN this morning. L He fell out one night last week and scared us to death. Poor baby needs to stop falling and hitting his noggin on the hardwood floor.

I still have a Halloween mat on the front porch and a Halloween sign out front. Maybe I should move those…

Oh, and clean my car. Oh my goodness is it a pit right now. And the back is all muddy from our trek to the Pumpkin Patch in the rain. When was that? Like 2 weeks ago?

I should possibly stop blogging and take care of a few of these thing…. Like the mound of laundry I also have to take care of.
