No rest for the weary…

While it stunk that I had to take a day off of work yesterday (I only have a one day work week this week!) I was able to watch all of the Inauguration festivities live. I began worrying about Michelle Obama about halfway through the day. Her coat didn’t look thick enough to me. She had to be so cold!

In all seriousness, though- what a historic day! President Obama is so poised and well spoken and I pray he has a successful presidency.

We had the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball (I love that they had this Ball, by the way) on right before the kids went to bed and B was dancing and clapping and cheering the entire time. It really put a smile on my face.

Speaking of this little cutie:

He is on a nap strike! How can that be? Doesn’t he know he is only two-years-old? Doesn’t he know he needs his sleep?

It all started when we got rid of the pacis and has only gotten worse. He will fall asleep in the car in a heartbeat and when we get home- he’s awake. He will fall asleep in my arms and I lay him down- he’s awake. I lay him straight down in his bed (which I have always done!!) and he will chat for an hour without falling asleep.

<sigh>

Stinker needs a nap!

New babies and prayer…

Yesterday, thanks to technology, I followed the birth of 2 sweet babies.  Thanks to wireless internet connections, laptop computers, facebook, and blogs, Mom’s can journal through labor and keep others informed of what’s going on many miles away.  Very cool.

My sisiter-in-law gave birth to her second baby boy yesterday- congrats to Mom, Dad, and big brother!!!  We now have another sweet boy in the family.  Can’t wait to meet him!

Technology cannot only help you keep in touch with those you know, it can also introduce you to others that you don’t know.

I also followed the birth of Harper at Kelly’s Korner.  I don’t know Kelly, but follow her blog. She is such a sweet person and has been waiting for this baby for a long time.  The baby was born with pneumonia and is in critical condition. She was flown to a Children’s Hospital.  Please pray for this family.
