Mother’s Day…

I’m so thankful today for my own mother and the two little fellows that made me a mom!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Easter Weekend…

We’ve had a great Easter-filled weekend around here.  We had Friday off and relaxed most of the day and then went to the Good Friday service.

On Saturday, we finally dyed eggs . I decided to try tie-dyeing eggs this year. It was so easy and the kids loved it. The boys may or may not have been too impatient to let their colors set. J

I followed the instructions at Family Fun.

The boys went to a friend’s house Saturday night for a Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt. They had such a wonderful time!!

It’s our favorite Egg Hunt of the year. It is so different and the dark and flashlights add such fun elements!

This was Luke’s first year and he needed no instructions. He zoomed right out there with his flashlight and grabbed a bunch of eggs!

The kids woke up Sunday super excited to see what the Easter Bunny had brought. They spent the morning playing and sneaking too much candy and then we got dressed for church.

The sun was super bright for them! I thought they looked so cute and grown up. I got a glimpse of Daniel at 18 I think. A lady at church said Luke looked like a little Frat boy. Ha! He really kind of does.

We came home and ate a yummy ham lunch. The boys went on and on about how yummy it was. That makes a mommy feel good… even if Honey Baked Ham cooked 3 of the 6 items. J

And as not to be a hypocrite, since I have not one but 2 “Cute Easter desserts” posts, I tried to make cute Easter cupcakes.

I got the recipe for these bird’s nest cupcakes from Picky Palate. Hers are so much cuter, but these were festive enough for us!

After lunch I took a mega nap, which was awesome! I love a good nap and rarely get one these days.

It’s been a great Easter weekend around here and we still have one more day of it! We’re off for Easter Monday. I see laundry and mopping in my future.

Fun Birthday, I mean Easter Egg Hunt…

Luke had his school Easter Egg Hunt this week and, as usual, had a blast. He thought he was at a birthday party the whole time. Ha! He had been to a birthday party/egg hunt a couple of weeks earlier, so I guess he just thought he was at a really big birthday party. J

The Easter Egg Hunt was at the home of one of our students. Gorgeous!!

We had a little picnic….

Hunted for eggs…

Played, played, played….

And Luke got his face painted. He waited so long in line and was SO proud of his snake.

After the egg hunt, Luke just HAD to go show Daddy and Daniel his cool snake.

I think it was one of the best “birthday parties” he’s been to. J

{more} Cute Easter Desserts…

I’m not sure which of these I will make for our Easter dessert, but there are some very cute choices! Just click on the picture to be taken to the recipe.

There are such creative folks out there! Love these cute little desserts!

Professional Egg Hunters…

I think the boys may soon become professional egg hunters. Especially Luke. Luke had an Easter Egg Hunt Birthday party on Saturday and then the church Easter egg hunt Sunday.

Here are the boys and some of their church friends ready to hunt some eggs.

The kids were way into running around and grabbing eggs, so only a back view of Luke and I couldn’t even catch up to Daniel.

Showing off his loot:

The only picture I got of Daniel was in the car on the way home. He was much too busy playing with friends and hunting eggs to be bothered any earlier.

Next up for Luke: the school Easter Egg Hunt. And lets not forget actual Easter. I think we might have a steady stream of candy for a while!
