Luke is thank you for…

The other night at dinner Luke asked us all what we were “thank you” for. I thought that wording was too cute.

He also brought home this cute thankful turkey.  But, I think Daniel might have been a little offended by it.  :)

“Daniel, but only sometimes.”

Thankful Thursday… on a Friday…

October, November and December are my absolute favorite times of the year. I just love all three. It was cool here today, so I’ve been in my long sleeve shirt snuggled under a blanket in my warm house relaxing on my day off of work and feeling super blessed.

Today, I am thankful for…

Changing seasons. I love the uniqueness of each one {although Fall’s my fav}

Cool temps and warm blankets.

My job. I am so fortunate to have a job that I enjoy.

Freedom. I am thankful for those willing to serve in our military to protect our freedoms.

Days off of work. I have loved having a relaxing day off. Days off from work are always a little treat.

Family days. I love days that we get to spend together as a family. Nothing necessarily on the agenda, just hanging out together.

Luke. I’m thankful for our resident crazy man! He is such a funny, sweet little guy.

Daniel. I’m thankful for my smart, witty little boy. He has such a love of life and learning.

Dan. I am super thankful for my wonderful husband. He is the perfect person for me to share my life with!

Wrapping Up October…

I really can’t believe October has come and gone. It just flew for us.

We finished out our October with lots of fun Halloweeny things.

We carved our pumpkin…

We did all sorts of fun things up at the lake, including campsite Trick or Treating.

The boys always have a ball up at the lake for Halloween. They have games and hayrides and fried food that is too good. And they always rack up on the best candy during the Trick or Treat time. They are so generous to the boys there.

As much as I would have loved to have skipped Trick or Treating on actual Halloween (they had SO much candy from the lake!) we, of course, went. One of Daniel’s good buddies always has a Halloween party and then the kids TOT as a group. The boys had a ball.

Daniel was a ninja this entire Halloween season. Isn’t it beautiful? J It’s for sure an 8 year old boy thing!

Luke had to retire Scooby Doo and dressed as a pirate.

And just for fun, here is Daniel as a pirate when he was four:

As much as I love Halloween, I am ready to put it behind us. I’m hoping to replace it it with lots of talk about thankfulness!

Pumpkin Patch…

Luke’s school went to the Pumpkin Patch today and I took the day off of work to go with him. I think I might have been as excited as he was. I do love the Pumpkin Patch. And fun days off of work with my little man.

It was so sunny and hot today! The weather just can’t make up its mind. We were sweating and Luke is squinting for all his pictures.

He absolutely LOVED the hay maze. This was by far his favorite part of the whole trip.

He climbed and climbed. It was right up this boy’s alley.

He played in the corn,

picked some cotton {I told you it was sunny!},

played on the playground,

and of course, picked his pumpkin. Also known as, picking up the first pumpkin he saw and getting back on the hayride.

All of this fun lead to one tired, but super happy boy!

Festivals and Fall Breaks and Soccer, Oh My…

My computer has been giving me problems since my last blog post. That is really not helping lack of blogging! It finally let me log onto my screen today, so I’m determined to do a quick post.

We had fall break earlier this week and really enjoyed our time off! We had a Fall Festival at church and the boys had a ball.

This is a terrible picture of Daniel, but it’s all I have. He was running around all over the place.

So here he is with the sun in his face, his ninja face stuff all askew, in between rock climbing adventures:

Luke was insistent that he wanted to be Scooby Doo with a mask. So, after some searching, I found him Scooby Doo with a mask… and he ripped the costume all up playing at the Festival. So….. he will be a pirate from here on out, because we have that costume from when Daniel was 4. J .

He refused to stop for a picture {there was way too much going on~ who would stop playing for pictures?!?}, but here he is running by:

He also found some cotton candy and ended up with a nice pink beard. J

We had fun Monday of Fall Break by going to the zoo. Or the “animal park” as Luke called it.

The day was gorgeous and we really enjoyed ourselves.

The zoo was all decorated for Zoo Boo, so there was lots of creepy Halloween stuff all around and… Batman.

Our resident Batman lover was all excited about this find. We had a picnic lunch and walked all over the place. It was really nice. The boys were asking to leave in the afternoon, because they were so tired!

Luke had double header soccer games today. He did surprisingly well playing for so long. He scored two goals!

It was such a pretty day to be out and about. His soccer season ends this coming up Thursday, so Luke asked me if he could play football next. Uhm…. No. I’m sure I only have a couple years left to say no to that request from him. Yikes!
