At nine…

My Daniel is nine years old now. He is such a sweet and smart and caring boy. I can almost smell preteenhood. I’m not sure I’m ready!! He told me the other day that he wanted a Bop magazine, because one of his friends had one and it was so cool. Oh, dear. He was very cooperative with telling me his favorites this time!

A Peak into my House…

If you were to peak into my house today you would see people wearing pajamas and playing with new toys (even a boy riding a new bike around the house).

If you were to peak into my house today you would see a Christmas tree waiting to be disassembled and a couch full of decorations ready for Christmas boxes.

If you were to peak into my house today you would see lots of people (and animals) resting and all of my pretty Christmas cards still hanging on the Christmas tree.

I made a Christmas card blessing ring this year and LOVE it!

If you were to peak into my house today you would see a big ole mess and a sick boy lying on the couch playing video games.

Actually, maybe it’s best that you don’t peak into my house today…

Nine…

My first born little man is nine years old now! It’s crazy how fast time flies when you’re someone’s Momma!

Daniel woke up to his now expected balloons in his room. There were nine of them this year.

And streamers in the door way.

We spaced out the gift opening a little bit, because he was so excited. There was lots of Star Wars lego play before 8:00!

Daniel had a few buddies come over to play and eat pizza around lunch time. He was so proud of his cake. He went to the store and picked it out all by himself. Lots of chocolate. And some weird Christmas gift that looked like Mardi Gras on top. I love that he has embraced his December birthday, because he loved that Christmas birthday cake!

He got some fun gifts from his friends and had a blast playing with them.

We rested for a bit after D’s friends left and then we headed to Zoo Lights.

The boys had a blast and Daniel declared his birthday a success!

And the Worst Blogger award of 2011 goes to….

Me!

I’ve never let my blog sit so long without an update!

It has been so crazy~busy around here! I want to keep up my blog, because I love looking back and seeing what we were doing at certain points in our lives.

The major reason that I have not been around this {pretty, fall~ thanks to Dan} blog is that my hours at my new job were doubled! Awesome for me, but not the ole’ bloggy. I now have a full morning of reading groups and 3 afternoon math groups.

Daniel’s karate, Luke’s soccer, and my poor hubby’s ankle have also kept things busy around these parts.

I’m definitely having to adjust to this working mom thing. I’m not full-time, but pretty close and then there is so much planning, since this is my first year doing this!

My poor printer and google search bar are exhausted. And can I give another shout out to teacher blogs. Love you! They have been so helpful.

Number 9 AKA Luke is LOVING soccer. He can’t wait until his soccer games and plays really hard and cheers on his teammates when he is taking a break. He’s scored several goals including 2 for the other team Thursday. J How dare they switch which goal is ours with a bunch of 4 year olds! ;)

Dan is hanging in there and still coaching on crutches.

You can see him in the background of the picture above.

He’s scheduled for another Dr. appointment Monday for his ankle. He’s made some progress, but not a lot. Still no weight on it yet and we’re almost at one month since he hurt it. Poor guy is SO tired of the crutches and being unable to walk on his foot.

Daniel had a program last week. It was called Educations Rocks and it was cute. He had a speaking part. The picture quality is awful, I just had my cell phone and was a mile away from him.

He also started riding the bus last week. He thinks it’s the greatest thing (thank goodness). I was having to do so much rushing around to get the kids after work, that this has worked out just great! They let him off right in front of the house, since we live on a busy road. We swore we would try not to do the bus with the kids, but this bus driver runs a tight ship, so I feel better about it! He has a couple of really good buddies on the bus, so that really helps.

I’m going to really try to blog just little bits through the week, that way it’s not such a daunting task! I want to be able to remember this crazy time in our lives. This time where Simply Cindy’s life is a little less simple!

My Day: A Play by Play..

I thought I would do a ‘Day in the Life Of’ today. I feel like I’m constantly in the car running up and down the road these days. Such is the life of a mother, I guess.

This is a riveting post, let me warn you. ;)    But I do enjoy looking back on the posts.

My day started with my 6:00 alarm clock and was followed by getting ready for the day~ shower, dressed, hair, makeup, Daniel up, breakfast, packing lunches, rushing Daniel out of the door, etc., etc.

I head into work around 8:00My day was full of short vowels and listening to reading. J Over and over. I have to say I love it, though!!

I headed home for lunch and then over to the preschool to pick up Luke. We ran by the church to see Dan real quick and Dan gave Luke a balloon.

It became his toy of the day. He was into that balloon!

We chilled at the house for about 45 minutes before we got back in the car and went to pick up D3.

We came home for the kids to grab a quick snack and then headed to Sam’s for our monthly Sam’s run.

Grocery shopping with two kids is really just not tons of fun. Thank goodness for all the samples today, though! They took advantage of them.

We came home and I put up the food and Daniel got ready for Karate.

He’s doing great with Karate. He’s an orange belt {the only orange belt standing up in the picture} and he gets to do so much more, so he is really into it.

After Karate, we came home and D3 {&Luke} did homework while I cooked dinner.

I made a little drawer full of things that Luke could do during homework time. He’s done great sitting with Daniel every day and working on different things from his homework box.

Ignore the boxes in the background. My parents gave us some dishes and I’ve yet to unpack them all. <hangs head in shame.>

We ate dinner, the boys cleaned up toys, got clean, got in pajamas, brushed teeth, had story time and went to sleep!

I cleaned the kitchen and then watched Big Brother <hangs head in shame again. J>

I think I might watch another show with my hubby and then go to sleep!

Such is a day in my life…
