Eleven…

Eleven years ago today I married my wonderful husband. I’m still not sure where those eleven years have gone. They have flown by!

They have been full of ups and downs….

lots of moves, two crazy boys…

several jobs,  tons of fun….

but mostly lots and lots of love.

Happy Anniversary, baby! I love you!!!

Anniversary Weekend {etc}…

We had a wonderful anniversary weekend. It totally revolved around relaxing and eating and doing whatever the heck we wanted. Including sleeping until 10:30. I don’t think I’ve done that since I was a teenager!

We have vowed everyone to secrecy with our trip location, because the kids would have a fit! Dan’s parents live in central Florida, so we dropped them off with Grandma and Grandpa and headed to stay at the House of Mouse.

We went and did things like staying at a bit of a nicer hotel {although the kids would have LOVED it there!} We usually stay at Pop Century, which is great because we’re usually park hopping.

And we went to Epcot and went to all of the countries and even all of the shops that I’m always too nervous to take the kids in!

We ate a yummy lunch in Mexico. They just redid this restaurant and it was very good. We were able to sit right on the water and it was so nice.

We walked around and rode Soarin’ {I had never riden this one because Luke can’t ride it yet, but it was fun!} and watched Captain EO, which was like being teleported back into the 80s- it was great. Cheesy, but great. J

We took the day at such a nice, easy pace! They gave us Anniversary buttons, so everyone told us Happy Anniversary. Ha! J

We ate dinner at the Rose & Crown in England and it was so good. I had Shepherd’s Pie and could have literally liked the bowl. But I refrained.

They sang All You Need is Love to us since it was our anniversary. It was cute.

Saturday was my glorious sleeping until 10:30 morning, so we got ready and went to eat lunch and shop Downtown Disney.

I’ve warned that this trip was a lot about food! After we shopped, we headed back to our hotel to watch the Florida/Tennessee game. After the game, we got ready for dinner and headed over to the Yacht Club to look around. Super nice hotel.

We ate dinner at the Captain’s Grille, which was awesome. It’s definitely made it up toward the top of our list of restaurants at Disney. We went down to the pool area after dinner, which was nice. The kids would have LOVED it there. There were all sorts of slides and fun things there.

We packed up the next morning and headed out to pick up our kiddos~ who wanted no part of us or going home! They were having entirely too much fun with grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins. My sister in law took some pictures of my kids in their bounce house {thanks, Amanda!}. I think they had a grand time!

After our relaxing weekend, we made the 6 hour trek home. I really think it feels twice as long when you are going home! I thought we would never get back. And we entered right back into reality.

The relaxation and quiet sure was fun while it lasted!

I’m also linking this on {embrace the camera} this week- note there are 2 pictures of me and Dan in this post. This must be some sort of record. :)

Then…

Like a river meets the sea,

stronger than it’s ever been.

We’ve come so far since that day

And I thought I loved you then…

Happy TENTH Anniversary, Dan!!!

I love you!!!

This and That…

THIS is a post of randomness, because I can think of nothing to blog about. I had a list of countless blog topics in my head the other the week, and apparently they decided to fly away.

THAT husband of mine wrote the funniest post the other day. It’s funny because things turned out okay. I wanted to blog about it myself, but then he did and did such a good job. Read it here. Hey, the title is “My Head is in the Toilet,” you can’t ask for a much more riveting title than that.

THIS weekend is our anniversary trip. Have I talked about that here before? Ha! Only a lot. I’m excited to get away and have some time alone. <gasp!> And ten years is just a big darn deal to me. J

THAT Brad Paisley song, Anything Like Me, makes me tear up every time I hear it. I just love it!! That little bitty ‘me’ at the end is too sweet.

THIS week is Grandparent’s Week at Daniel’s school and since his grandparents aren’t local and work full time, I went to eat lunch with him. {And I wasn’t the only parent by a long shot}. Do you know that was my first time eating lunch with him at school? I feel awful admitting that. I feel like I should get Bad Mother of the Year or something for never having done that before. I really should do it more often, because pretty soon he will not want me at his school sitting with him.

THAT darn Batcave that we bought Luke for his birthday is about to make me curse. It started an obsession. Ob.ses.sion! We had to take all of his Batman things away for a while, because it was getting to be too much. All consuming. <sigh>

THIS parenting thing can be hard sometimes. With the whole limit setting and life foundation forming and decision making and what not.

THAT list of blog topics better return to me soon…. I don’t like having blog writer’s block. As if I write riveting things on this blog to begin with…

Smile…

Some things that have made me smile this week:

Luke meeting chocolate pudding.

Luke sang all of He Walked On Water the other night at bed.  That little bitty voice singing that song was too sweet for words.  I really need to get him on video.  Dan sings this to him almost every night.  That and Surfer Girl except the boys know this song as Surfer Boy:)

Daniel had a couple little boys over to play Legos tonight trying to start up his Lego club. :)   They built Legos and drew on t-shirts and ate pizza and cake and played Mario Kart.  They had a lot of fun and I thought it was cute. Daniel planned the night himself, down to the card table set up in his bedroom to build Legos on.

Dan called me the other day to let me know that he set up an appointment for me to get my hair highlighted and a manicure/pedicure.  I thought that was so sweet!  It gave me a good giggle to think about the conversation that had to take place between Dan and the lady that cuts my hair!   Ha!  This is totally not in his comfort zone!

Next weekend is our big 10 year anniversary weekend!  I can’t wait.  Road trips definitely make me smile. :)
