Fo’ Real…

This is how my den looks at the moment.

Like a toy war zone.

Looks like the kids have some toy cleaning up in their future.

The Lake…

We had a wonderfully relaxing long weekend at my parent’s cabin at the lake this weekend.

We did a whole lot of relaxing and reading {Dan reading his new Kindle}.

We did a little birthday celebrating {Happy 36th, baby!}

We did some golf cart riding {Luke’s favorite activity at the lake}.

The boys did a lot of playing {and actually got along!}

We did a lot of swimming {both boys actually took off swimming- yay!}

We did a lot of outdoor grilling {well, Dan did anyway}.

All in all it was a great weekend and just what the doctor ordered!

Hay un amigo en mi….

In the latest issue of Family Fun magazine they have the cutest cupcakes and I just had to make them!

How cute are the little green aliens from Toy Story?!

The boys and I thought they would make a fun treat for the day we went to see Toy Story 3.

Here are Luke and Daniel’s aliens.

Luke made the top one and Daniel the bottom and they both did them by themselves. I thought they were super cute.

Ooooo…. The claw….

They were fun and easy and the instructions are here.

I took the extras to men’s group at our church and they bit into them with the decorations all on top and had a hard time chewing. J You might want to take the gummy things off before you start to eat.

We also colored Toy Story coloring pages.

I found those on the Family fun website. There are a ton of fun Toy Story Activities at the Family Fun website.

We all went and saw the movie and loved it! It was such a great, sweet (and bittersweet) movie. Two thumbs up from us!

Ancient Words Ever True…

Last week was Vacation Bible School at our church and the kids LOVED it.  We did the High Seas Expedition and it was a very well put together Vacation Bible School.  Daniel always looks forward to this week every summer and Luke participated quite a bit this week and loved it too.

Luke gave us quite a giggle the first night of VBS.  We arrived at church and he had a fit.  He was so mad because “this is not PBS, this is church!!”  It was too funny.  He finally got what *V*BS was all about and decided that it was okay that it was at church.  :)

The favorite for the boys every year would have to be the songs.  This year was no exception.  I love that they do music videos now with the words and motions.   I thought that was pretty cool.  Anyway, the boys have been singing the songs all week and it is such a joy to hear your kids sing such uplifting songs.

Daniel’s favorite was Ancient Words.  It was the only slow song from VBS and not one you would immediately guess would be the favorite of an active 7 year old boy, but he LOVES this song.  I have always loved how he can feel music.  He gets right in the moment with it and I have heard this song no less than 50 times this past week (we have a copy of the CD).

Both boys sing every word to the top of their lungs and it is beyond sweet.

Hearing a group of children singing praises has to be my absolute favorite part of VBS too.  It’s so innocent and joyful!

Here’s the song that has captured my kiddo’s hearts.

Ancient Words

Words of Life, words of Hope
Give us strength, help us cope
In this world, where e’er we roam
Ancient words will guide us Home.
Ancient words ever true
Changing me and changing you,
We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart.

Happy Father’s Day!

I think that the smiles in these pictures say it all.

My children are very blessed to have such a loving,

Fun,

Silly,

Patient,

Supportive Daddy and we all love him very much!!!!

Happy Father’s Day, Dan!

We love you,

Cindy, Daniel, and Luke
