Daniel at 7 and a half: The Interview…

Possibly even more shocking than my baby being three and a half is my first-born being seven and a half. SEVEN. How is that even possible? I’m not old enough to have a rising 2nd grader!

I asked him a few questions the other day and here are his answers:

What is your favorite color? Green & Blue

What do you like to eat? Tacos

What do you like to drink? Lemonade

What is your favorite place? McDonald’s

What do you like to watch on TV? G.I. Joe

What’s your favorite toy? Waterguns (huh?? I would have guessed Star Wars figures or Legos)

What is your favorite song? Freeze Dance (from P.E.)

What is your favorite book?  My encyclopedia

Who is your favorite friend? Richard and Will (from school)

What do you like to wear? Batman shirt with jean shorts

What is your favorite part of the school day? Playground time

What are you looking forward to this summer? Going to Disney World!

What is the best thing about being 7? Being in 1st grade

Daniel is super smart and loves life. He gets excited about absolutely everything and is a high energy kid (although he is calming down a lot!).

He likes to memorize facts and keep arguments going with his brother. J He is good at sharing and is willing to try new things.

He loves to joke around and has a kind heart.

He is a super silly guy and we are all rather fond him!

Luke at 3 and a half: The Interview…

My baby is almost three and a half. Which, I guess, means he’s not a baby anymore after all. <sigh> I’m not sure when he got so big! I just gave birth, right?

I decided to ask him some questions and here are his answers:

How old are you? Free (3)

What is your favorite color? Red

What do you like to eat? Hotdogs (I would have guessed French fries!)

What do you like to drink? Sweet tea (Yup! And Lemonade)

What is your favorite place? Disney World

What do you like to watch on TV? Scooby Doo (more like an obsession!)

What’s your favorite toy? Playing Batman with Daniel

What is your favorite song? Batman (I think it’s really Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean- he lights up when it comes on and sings every word. J)

What is your favorite book?  Batman

Who is your favorite friend? Chase (from school)

What do you like to wear? Batman shirt

Sensing a theme here? The boy still loves Batman! This is a pretty accurate description of my little guy.

He is full of many tight hugs and kisses and “I really wuv you Mommy” several times a day. He is feisty and stubborn and likes things his way (soooo unlike anyone else in this family. ;) )

He the best relaxer I know, he loves to play and can keep himself busy for hours. He loves his brother and one of his favorite things to do is go to Daniel’s baseball games and cheer on the team… and beg for popcorn.

He loves to play Yahtzee and he can bowl like a pro on the Wii. He hates to get a haircut and always wants Daddy to read his bedtime story.

He is a funny little guy and we are all rather fond him!

Starting the week with a stream of my thoughts…

… one week until we’re at Disney World!

… I am in desperate need of a vacation.

…  Luke started running a fever on Thursday again (103 again).  He’s done this every two weeks for six weeks now.

… We took him into the doctor and they ran a blood test and found mycoplasma, which causes walking pneumonia.

…The doctor didn’t think he had walking pneumonia yet, but went ahead and put him on antibiotics without running anymore tests to make sure.

…Walking pneumonia or not he would have needed the same medicine.

… My last day of school was last Thursday.

… It’s hard to believe the school year is over.  Luke will be in the three year old class next year and Daniel will be a second grader.   I really can’t believe it!

… We had a banquet for High School Seniors today at church.  It was very nice.  They had a slide show playing that made me think about how fast kids grow!  I can’t imagine my kids that big.

… Some people still behave as if they are in high school.  Why is that?

… I’m finishing up the Summer Chart that I mentioned back in the winter.  I’ll have to share when I get it done.

… I need to sign Daniel up for a couple of summer activities at the sports center.

… I’m praying my boys get along this summer.  My sanity needs them to.  :)

…  The LOST series finale is coming on while we are traveling next week. My DVR better not let me down.

… I’m sad that’s it’s the end of LOST.  I hope the finale is great and not a let-down after six years of trying to figure this show out.

… Only one more week until Disney.

…. Have I already mentioned that… and that I really need a vacation?

Baby Teeth…

Daniel lost another tooth this week and really wishes it were Christmas.

So he could ask for his two front teeth. J

He is so excited and showing everyone.

Luke is now totally obsessed with loosing teeth. He is really trying to wrap his little brain around the fact that your teeth fall out!

He is almost horrified about it and asks to see Daniel’s teeth many times a day. And mine. And Dan’s. And stranger’s.

He likes to show off his baby teeth. Even though he’s not a baby.

And how could Daniel have baby teeth too when he is really not a baby?

And where exactly are Mommy’s baby teeth?

And why are Daniel’s coming out when no one else’s teeth are coming out around here?

Bless his heart, we are blowing his mind with all of this baby teeth stuff!

Jellybeans, Friends, and Baseball, oh my…

Daniel had Jellybean Field Day at school last week. It was really a nice event. They had 15 stations set up and the kids had a card around their necks with the station name on it and when they completed the station it got checked off on the card. When they were all done they got a juice and a cup full of jellybeans.

This was a completely social event for Daniel. He was bouncing around with kids from all classes and playing and hugging and forgetting that he had to do 15 activities to get jellybeans and time on the playground. J He finally got on task. The child had a blast, though.

Daniel and his buddy from class. They are also on the same baseball team.
Daniel is in mid jellybean chomp here.

I have to be a mother and brag about Daniel and baseball the other night. He was the only player on his team to get a hit at both at-bats and he scored one of their two runs. I was so excited for him (even though his team lost). Baseball is going so much better than it was in the beginning.

Dan wrote a great post about Daniel and Baseball on his blog a few weeks back.

 Dan’s post.

Field day and these last games of baseball show us that summer break is almost here! We are so ready.
