Disney Vacation: Days Three and Four …

We slept in on our third day and then got ready to do whatever we wanted on this day.

We went to eat lunch at Chevy’s and then headed to Downtown Disney. I think I like this place as well as a park! There’s so much going on and lots of shopping, which I enjoy.

We hit up Daniel’s version of Utopia- The Lego Store.

He LOVED this store and bought a few things. He made 3 mini-figures to buy. He made Indiana Jones, a bad guy, and Dan.

It’s the ultimate compliment from the Lego obsessed boy. He even has on an astronaut shirt, because Dan wanted to be an astronaut. Love it!

After Downtown Disney we headed to Animal Kingdom. We walked in right as they were having the parade.

Going late in the afternoon worked out great for this park. We zoomed through and did everything that we wanted to get done and more. We all loved the Safari, Nemo show, and the Lion King show. Luke especially loved the Lion King and the tumble monkeys. And we have a certain soft spot for the Tree of Life. (Dan worked there for a while, for those who didn’t know.)

Luke wanted to ride the Primeval Whirl so bad, but he wasn’t tall enough- by 6 inches. He kept telling me he had grown and was big now. So, when Dan and Daniel were done with the roller coaster, they took Luke on the Triceratop Spin. He loved that thing and rode it twice in a row.

Here they are going by, can’t you tell?

We closed this park down too and then headed back to the hotel super late. We needed to rest up for the next day… Hollywood Studios.

Hollywood Studios is probably my personal favorite of the parks. We enjoy Magic Kingdom a lot with the kids, but I think Hollywood Studios is the favorite for me and Dan.

Daniel was super excited about all of the Star Wars stuff around for Star Wars weekends.

Daniel got chosen to be part of the High School Musical show. He went out and played air guitar and loved every minute of it.

The kids loved the Lights Motor Action car stunt show and the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. Luke actually rode Star Tours this time, but did not care for it. He was a trooper though and didn’t cry or anything, he just didn’t enjoy it.

We ate dinner at the 50′s Prime Time Café. The atmosphere was fun and the food was very good. The restaurant is set up like a 1950′s house and there is a TV on every table playing good old black and white shows and commercials.

The dessert was absolutely sinful and delicious. Don’t worry, I didn’t finish it… and I shared… some.

We headed back to the hotel and swam for a bit. Luke took off like a fish with his little floaty arms. He wouldn’t let us touch him, he just swam back and forth and back and forth.

We finally headed to bed to rest up for our last day…. back to Magic Kingdom!

Disney Vacation: Day Two…

Our second day started off at Chef Mickey’s for breakfast. Luke was pumped up about Mickey Mouse waffles with Mickey. There was lots of whooping and hollering and jumping up and down.

Eating breakfast so early with the characters put us in the Magic Kingdom right after rope drop, which made my husband a happy camper. J

We were able to walk through Cinderella’s castle, which Daniel got a kick out of. It’s closed a lot because of a show that they do in front of the castle.

We made our way through Fantasy Land, which is always a favorite for the boys. Then we headed over to the ride that Luke has talked about for months…. Haunted Mansion.

He was so excited.

Dan and I had been wondering how he would react. He tends to be scared of things, but was super excited about the Haunted Mansion.

It turned out he really liked it. He kept talking about it afterward saying “Haaa Haaa Heee Heee… No doors….” The ghost in the beginning says with a cackle that there are no windows and no doors.

We all took a mid-day nap this day because I was falling asleep during the Country Bears! We ate dinner at the hotel and went back to Magic Kingdom to walk around and maybe ride a few rides.

We stuck around for the fireworks that night which were, as usual, gorgeous. Here’ s a lovely picture of them.

We headed back to the hotel to rest for the next day… Downtown Disney and Animal Kingdom!

Disney Vacation: Day One…

These next several posts will probably only be of interest to me… and Dan… and maybe our boys. J This is the blog version of a slideshow of someone’s vacation. They find it extremely interesting, meanwhile all of the people watching are dozing off.

We had a great trip and it seemed to absolutely fly by!

Our first day we went to EPCOT. We stayed the night with Dan’s parents, so we woke up nice and early and drove the hour and a half drive to Disney World.

Dan and Daniel were very excited about riding Mission Space. Daniel was a total trooper through the whole thing, although I’m not sure he would do it again!

Luke was all set for the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, which are at Magic Kingdom not EPCOT. We kept trying to tell him that he would see them the next day. He got beyond excited when he looked through a window and saw his favorites- Mickey and Pluto. So…. We stood in the mega line to get an autograph (in the books the boys made J).

We ate lunch and then headed over to the countries. We did the dining plan, which was great. We stayed way too full though, and I’m sure I gained back my 15 pounds I lost, but it was a fun time. We knew going in that there would be no dieting at Disney World!

Daniel did the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure. That was pretty cool. He became a secret agent and got a special cell phone that gave him clues as to where to go. His mission took him to Mexico where he had to find certain items and scan them into the phone and in the end he saved Mexico from being taken over. He really enjoyed that.

We ate at the restaurant in France for dinner. It was very yummy. Remmy from Ratatouille came around to everyone’s table during dinner, which was cute.

After dinner we went to find Nemo and to Spaceship Earth. I think those two were the boys’ favorite attractions of the day.

We headed to the hotel to rest up for our next day…. Magic Kingdom!

Getting Ready for Disney…

We’re just a smidge excited about our Disney vacation around here. I’m sure that comes as quite the shock to those who know us well.

We’ve had a countdown going for a couple of weeks now.

For some reason this year I got it into my head that the boys needed to make their own autograph books. I thought that would be a fun project and they are way into the characters right now and I know they will want autographs.

So… I headed to Hobby Lobby for a few supplies.

We finally got around to making them the other night.

Luke is covered in chocolate pudding in these pictures. And this is after he was scrubbed, but before bath.

And yes, he is a messy eater.

And no, I don’t recommend doing this project before bed. The kids did great and had a lot of fun, but then they were so hyped up about the fact that they were going to Disney World, I didn’t think they would settle down for bed.

I let the boys make their own books. Which almost killed me, but I kept my mouth shut and let them go to town.

I really like that they are unique and no one else at the parks will have autograph books like theirs.

And they couldn’t be more proud.

Or silly.
