Boys will be boys…

Injuries are running amuck around here.

D3′s nose is getting much better. It has looked awful all week after his infamous fall.

Too bad Daniel isn’t a happy kid. J

Tuesday, Daniel and Luke were playing out in the backyard and decided to chunk rocks into the outside garbage can.

Bad idea.

I hear major screaming and run over to see Luke with blood absolutely pouring out of his head.

He had put his head over the garbage can to look at the rocks right as Daniel decided to throw a rock inside. It hit poor little Luke in the head and D3 starting freaking out when he saw major amounts of blood.

I rushed Luke inside and started cleaning him to see how bad the cut was and had D3 call Dan, because I was sure we were heading to the ER.

For the record, Luke is the toughest little guy I’ve seen. He was hollering at me the whole time that I was cleaning him up that he wanted to go back outside and play!!

Luke trying to show his ‘boo boo.’

We went to the doctor to have her check D3′s nose and Luke’s head. The nose wasn’t broken, just really bruised. And like we thought, they wouldn’t have glued (or stitched) Luke’s head, because the cut was in his hair.

She told me they were fine- just boys.

No more blankets, Daniel-san…

Daniel looks so beat up because he was in a karate tournament and was fighting against the Cobra Kai dojo. They decided to sweep his bad leg, but he won doing the crane kick.

Well, at least that what I’ve told him he should say.

He actually was walking around the house with a blanket on his head and tripped and slammed his nose into the wall.

That takes talent folks.

His poor little nose is all purple and swollen now. I don’t think it’s broken, but we’re watching him.

You never know what’s going to happen around here!

 Wax on… wax off…

The blog posts that never were…

At times in my life I feel like things are rolling right along and we’re keeping our heads above water.  Then other times I feel like chores and errands and responsiblities mount up and loom over and I can’t keep up.  And I tend to get a bit stressed.  I guess everyone feels like this from time to time. Maybe this always comes with the end of the school year and I just block it out!

I’ve managed to keep some posts going around here, but they mostly revolve around picture with very few words!   I haven’t blogged as much as I would like to anyway.

Like I never blogged about the fact that Dan and I tried to do the Daniel Fast.

The Daniel Fast is a fast where you only eat fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

We lasted 5 days.  We were starved and abandoned the fast in favor of Weight Watchers which is actually going pretty well.

I feel like I was doing the Fast for the wrong reasons or it would have worked out better.  I wanted to loose some weight and really the fast should be done for spiritual reasons.

I also never blogged about our sanded and painted back door.  Actually I mentioned it a few weeks back.

It’s blue.

Very blue.

And the paint is thick.

Very thick.

But it’s no longer a peely and red.  And that’s a good thing, right?  Right?

Oh, I also never posted about Daniel getting better at baseball.

Something clicked with him and he figured out that he could hit the ball and actually got a single, triple, RBI, and crossed home plate last week.  We were thrilled!  And even better than that is that he is now excited to go to baseball and cheers on his team!  Yea D3!

I’m sure there are plenty of other things that have been “blog worthy” (or not so much, but whatever).  Oh, like I passed my Teacher Certification test and am now Certified!  That’s a biggie around here.

I’m going to try and do deep breathing and not stress during these last few weeks of school.  Maybe I should even try to enjoy it… there’s a concept!
