Spring Break at the Lake…

We’ve had a wonderful Spring Break! We spent a lot of time outdoors and a lot of time relaxing.

We ate entirely too much and I spent many hours sitting on the sunny deck reading (apparently re-reading) a book.

I took out entirely too many of these things:

And read Dear John. I was convinced I missed this Nicholas Sparks book (love him), but I’m remember the whole thing as I’m reading. Apparently I’ve read the thing, but I don’t remember the ending. Only a few more pages and I’ll be done then I can watch the movie.

The kids played like crazy and we were blessed with beautiful days. They even played well together all week. Look, I have proof.

Awww…. Brotherly love. J

Dan came for the weekend and spent most of his time fishing with my Pawpaw- who caught like 4 little bitty fish.

We couldn’t have asked for a better or more relaxing Spring Break week.

Now I have to get ready for school… and work…

And reality.

How many days until summer break?

Silly Boys…

I love these sweet, silly boys!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day…

In case you can’t read the picture, it says:

May your blessings outnumber

The shamrocks that grow

May good luck befall

Whomever you know

And until we meet again

May God hold you in the palm of his hand!

Baseball and Spring Break…

This is how we’ve spent a lot of our time lately:

Freezing as we’re watching this guy practice baseball:

Our Spring-like weather has disappered.

D3′s been trying hard and I think really enjoying baseball.  There is a world of difference in t-ball and baseball.  It’s crazy!  He’s trying, but hitting that ball flying out of a machine is a bit different than hitting it off of a tee.

Our first two days of Spring Break have brought cold temps and baseball practices.

The rest should bring warmer weather and fun at the lake!

And I’m more than ready!

It’s the little things…

Luke and I picked Daniel up from school on Friday and D3 asked if we could keep the windows down as we drove home.  I said ‘sure.’

They were thrilled!  They laughed and giggled the whole way home.  Such a small thing made them so happy.

I really need to remember to be that way myself.  To appreciate the little things and enjoy life to the fullest.

To  not spend the majority of my day worrying, but enjoying the wind blowing through my hair.

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize

they were the big things.”
