Lots of Christmas and birthday celebrating!

It’s been quite a full year with lots of wonderful memories! I’m praying for a happy and healthy 2010!!

2009 Recap… January to June…

This will possibly be a couple of posts that are only interesting to me, but it is my blog. J I wanted to highlight a couple of the important things that happened in our family during each month of 2009.

I can’t believe how fast a year goes by now that I’m a mom… or now that I’m in my thirties…. I don’t know which it is. Nonetheless, 2009 flew by like a flash!

JANUARY
We toured around and visited family! The boys had a ball with their cousins.

This trip also included the Savannah explosion!

FEBRUARY

February was a typical month with little ones… there were silly happies and meltdown sads. J

MARCH

We found out where Dan’s new appointment was going to be… right down the road. J

APRIL

Dan preached at Candler and no one cooperated for their Easter pictures.

MAY

Dan graduated college, D3 graduated Kindergarten and Dan & I went on a cruise.

JUNE

We bought a house, moved, unpacked, Daniel played T-ball, and we spent a day in Disney world for Dan’s birthday!

Whew!  We did a lot!

Our Three Words: Christmas Week Edition…

My week in three words:

This has been the ultimate week for ups and downs.
My Mawmaw passed away on the morning of Christmas Eve.
The kids were beyond excited about Santa’s arrival that night.
We had a great family Christmas at home on Christmas Day. The boys were thrilled with their gifts and it was a nice, relaxing day.
The day after Christmas was my Mawmaw’s funeral.
The day after that (the 27th) was Luke’s 3rd birthday. He had an awesome day of playing as we celebrated his little life.

It was a week of sadness and happiness rolled into one. It was a week of celebrating lives. It was a week of family.

My Pawpaw, Mawmaw, Mom, Me, and Daniel as a baby.

My Mawmaw and Luke as a baby.

I’m very fortunate that my Mawmaw got to know my boys and love them! And I’m thrilled they got to know her.

She is a super special lady.

Christmas ’09…

We had a wonderful family Christmas this year! The boys slept in until 7:00, which is really something for these two!

Here they are opening the gift that Santa wanted them to open first:

It was a Wii. The big gift for the family this year. And it has been a big hit, I must say.

“Cheese!”

Luke has never really been into opening his presents. Last year he saw his tricycle, jumped on and then refused to open any other gifts. J This year, however, he zoomed through ripping them open! He loved it!

This picture sums up Luke’s morning:

He LOVED his rainboots from Nana and Papa and his marshmallow lollipop from some ladies at church.

The boys got a Disney Karaoke game with microphones from Santa and seemed to enjoy that. They have been loving the Wii and Luke even has won a game of bowling. And Daniel beats us every time we bowl together!

Dan’s parents came in for a visit on Christmas afternoon and the boys were thrilled! I don’t have a single picture to prove it though! Guess I got lazy with the camera.

We had a very nice, quiet, relaxing Christmas this year! Hope you did too.

There’s a THREE year old at my house…

Luke has sung ‘Happy Birthday’ to himself every day this month and his day finally arrived! He is now THREE and it’s hard for me to believe!

He woke up this morning and immediately was ready to open presents. I usually put all the boy’s birthday presents from everyone out on the kitchen table the morning of their birthdays. Luke ran to the table and said, “Oooo, Santa came.” God bless him and his Christmas time birthday. J

He tore into his presents and was excited about them all. I believe the favorite gift of the day was the Batcave from Dan and me. He has played with it all day long!

We stayed home this morning and Luke just played for hours. When Dan got home we headed out to the Mexican restaurant for lunch. Yummy! Luke got his fill of chips and cheese dip and he ate a cheese enchilada. Daniel told the waiter it was Luke’s birthday, so they sang to him and brought him sopapillas. Again… yum!

Luke had been pointing on the box that the Batcave came in and asking where Penguin was. I’m not sure how he knows all of the characters names, but he is in love with Batman and Robin right now. So, I told him we would go to the store and see if we could find Penguin. Luckily Target had both the Penguin and the Joker packs just for the Batcave. He was so excited and came right home and started playing again.

He wanted icecream cake, so I made the easiest cake and it was soooo good.

He actually took a break from Batman to come and sing, blowout candles and eat cake.

He inhaled his cake and ran right back to Batman and Robin. J

I would call this quite the successful birthday!

Happy Birthday baby boy!! We love you!!!
