What do I know about Halloween?

My little guy is going through a stage where he is scared of shadows and all things “Cookie Monster.”

I really don’t think it’s the furry blue guy that he’s scared of, that is just what he has labeled all thing that are scary to him.

Anyway, I decided that he wouldn’t be too thrilled dressing up for Halloween, so I bought him some cute little overalls and borrowed D3′s train conductor hat and had a costume.

Yesterday morning I decided to try it on him. He looked so cute!

But he had an absolute fit! He couldn’t get the clothes off fast enough! He wanted to wear his brother’s old spider costume.

A completely bulky, Halloweeny costume.

What do I know huh? I thought my kiddo would have a fit with a costume, but instead he had a fit with normal clothes.

So, here’s our little spider train engineer.

Oh, and the Halloween saga doesn’t end there. I’ll have to post a picture of what the boys actually decided to dress up as afterall.

And it has nothing to do with trains… or spiders…

My stream of thoughts about my week thus far…

The Great Clean up of ’09 is underway. At least we’re attempting a great clean up. After a week of nasty sickies, this house needs some major cleaning!

I stayed home from work yesterday and tried to make it to the top of Mount Laundry.

It was awful! I almost made it, but I’m still not quite there.

Now Dan’s got this bad boy going in the other room:

I finally got to go back to work today! I was so happy. I really can’t stand being cooped in the house for days on end. It really does not do good things for my mood. Just ask Dan.

It was nice to get back to good ole’ circle time and centers, and coloring and playing and writing our names and making cute fall pumpkins and leaves.

By the way, I just checked google images for a kiddy pumpkin picture and this pulled up:

How cute is that? I might need to do this craft in my class.

Anyway, tomorrow brings grocery shopping and busting out the steam mop. I love that thing by the way.

I think it’s going to take me a week to catch up after having a sick family for a week!

Have a great rest of your week!

The sick house…

What a week this has been! When I last blogged, Little one had just gotten hit with the stomach bug. We lounged around on Wednesday and he still had a fever. Dan stayed home with him Thursday, so that I could go to work and he started throwing up again. L

Then I got home and started feeling sick and then I started throwing up.

D3 made me the sweet card above, then about midnight started throwing up. L My poor husband was so stressed at that point trying to care for 3 sick family members.

Needless to say, our house is not somewhere that you would want to be! D3 and I stayed in bed all day yesterday watching Scooby Doo.

We’re actually out of bed today, but still don’t feel great.

Now I’m just praying that somehow Dan doesn’t get it.

I hate stomach bugs…

So, last night we went to D3′s soccer game and everything was going just great. I tried to take pictures of him playing, but they turned out something like this:

He’s #3 by the way. D3 was actually playing his position and going after the ball- the game is so much different in first grade.

Anyway, little bit was doing awesome and sitting on his blanket playing with toys. So cute that I took his picture:

Awww…. Look at him lying down because it’s so late and he’s getting tired.

After this picture he crawled up in my lap and said he was ready for bed. Once again, awwww… you’re out late, that’s cute.

Then it came. Cough, cough, throw up, throw up, throw up.

Poor baby was majorly sick. L He was sick most of the night and is really not feeling well at all today.

I really think that someone can have a stomach bug within a 10 mile radius of us and one of my boys will catch it. Ugh!

Lots of laundry, baths, Lysol, and snuggling here today.

Florida beach…

This was the view from my chair last week at this time:

We had such a great and super quick weekend at the beach last weekend!  We left Friday morning and headed to Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  One of my very favorite places!

The minute we arrived the boys were ready to hit the beach.  Little one had never been to the beach, which was killing me since I grew up right by the beach!  He was soooooo excited.  He kept saying “Florida beach” over and over.

My chair view:

The boys did awesome at the beach. I wasn’t sure how they would do, but they had a blast. We cleaned up after being at the beach all afternoon and headed to Angler’s for dinner. I love eating at Angler’s. You can sit on the deck right on the beach and they have a playground right off of the deck on the beach. The food is fairly yummy and the atmosphere is great.

We went back to the hotel after dinner to get the kids to bed and I’m ashamed to say that I fell asleep with them! At like 8:00. So, Friday was a lively night. ;)

We woke up Saturday and after breakfast headed straight back to the beach.

“Cheese!”

We had to check out at 11:00 (I said it was a super quick trip!), so we had to pull the boys off of the beach to get ready to go.

Here are a few pictures from our balcony:

Dan’s good friend is a missionary and was visiting his parents in Florida, so after driving around Fort Walton and looking at our old stomping ground, we went to eat lunch with friends. We spent a few hours eating and then hanging out and then had to head home.

We had a whirlwind of a trip, but it was a lot of fun. We need to head back when we have a little more time. At least we were able to go for the bit of time that we did!
