Our Three Words…

The big news around our house was D3 starting the first grade!  He was super excited and then got very nervous the first day.  He didn’t sleep a whole lot that night, but seemed to have a great first day.

Here he is that first morning:

He’s been having a bit of a hard time warming up to the idea of going to school each morning.  I’m sure it’s tough moving to a new school in a new grade and not knowing everyone.  It can also be a rude awakening when summer is over… sitting in class vs. playing outside all day!   I’m sure he will come around!

We’ve had the big first grade adjustment this past week… now coming up is the two year old class adjustment.  (And the 4 year old teacher with a new class adjustment).  Hope we have good news to report. :)

School may have started…

but summer’s not over!

Our Three Words…

My week in three words:

Summer is wrapping up around here and this week has been full of all sorts of errands to get ready for school.  School supplies were bought, heads of hair cut, classrooms set up, we’ve met the teacher and are just about ready to go.

We’ve had a full week around here preparing for the new school year.  D3 is changing schools since we have moved and he is so excited.  I love that about him!  He said that his new school is “freaking him out, because it sounds so great.”  :)   We met his teacher on Thursday and he is super excited now.  His teacher seems great, but I *cannot* believe that he is going into first grade!  The room just seems so much older than Kindergarten.  We brought his school supplies:

He got to put those away while I filled out paperwork.  He has to have a clear or mesh backpack at this new school, so we went shopping and he fell in love with this one:

Much to my chagrin.  I was hoping for something a little less…. I dunno… clear.  Oh well, he loves it.

B is starting the 2 year old class.  I’m excited for him and praying that he does well there.  He’s not big on change AT ALL, so I’m praying that he loves it and warms up to it quickly.  I got him the cutest lunch box the other day.

I’ve also starting working in my room and organinzing my teaching things.  We start preschool a week after D3 starts school, so I still have a little while, but it takes a while to get things ready!

It’s hard to belive that the start of school is here!  Where did our summer go??

At two and a half…

This is me at two and a half:

  • I LOVE music. I am always dancing and singing. I know all of the words to most Alvin and the Chipmunk songs (Home and Bad Day are my favs) and The Jonas Brothers Year 3000. I also like to sing Silent Night, Jesus Loves Me, and Rock a bye Baby.
  • I don’t pronounce the letters L or R and add a th to the end of S words. For some reason mommy thinks this is adorable.
  • I am newly obsessed with Dora and Boots. I still love Oso and Manny, but Dora and Boots are it right now.
  • I am half way potty trained.
  • I love it outside and will play out there for hours. I like to ride my tricycle and am starting to peddle and I really like to play in the sand. I’m starting to like slides too.
  • I am obsessed with trains. We live near railroad tracks and I ask to go see the choo choo tracks all the time. My new favorite toy is my Geo Trax set from my brother. He gave them to me last week.
  • I still love to give hugs and kisses. Everyone says I’m a great hugger and kisser.
  • I can count to 10.
  • I’m finally starting to get used to my new house and church. Things changed a lot this summer!
  • I love my big brother and want to be just like him.
  • My favorite place to go is to “Papa’s Lake.” It’s so much fun there.
  • I love to read. I like to sit and look through the pictures and make up stories. I like for mommy and daddy to read me Berenstain Bear books. They are my favorite right now.
  • I still love my lemonade and want to drink it all the time.
  • I can be a bit of a ham. J
