Spring Break at the lake…

We’ve been out at my parent’s lake place for Spring Break for the past several days. Monday we were cooped up all day because of rain, but yesterday and today the kids were able to play outside and have had a ball. They love it out there.

We took the kids on a walk, to the park, on a picnic, to feed the ducks and several golf cart rides yesterday. The golf cart is the little one’s favorite. He is forever asking to go “ride ride.”

After an evening golf cart ride with Papa that involved hitting several mud puddles head on (golf cart mudding?) the boys washed the golf cart. They took the golf cart washing very seriously. J

Oh, we were also visited by leprechauns yesterday. They made a huge mess through part of the cabin and left behind some golden chocolate (Rolos). D3 loved that they came and little one had no idea what was going on, but was okay with it as long as it involved eating chocolate!

Randomness in list form…

  • I get to meet with an ENT at the end of the month for allergy testing after my crazy allergic reaction last week. We think it was the small amount of Worcestershire sauce in the dinner.
  • I’m allergic to fish and apparently Worcestershire Sauce has anchovies in it. Who knew.
  • I have a new found dislike of Worcestershire Sauce.
  • The catchiness of Single Ladies is about to make my head explode.
  • I don’t even love the song, I just can’t get it out of my head.
  • When your kid starts school, they learn new words such as “that rocks” “that sucks” and “ding-a-ling”
  • Only one of those phrases is okay to say at our house.
  • Taking 2 kids to the pediatrician’s office by yourself is physically exhausting!
  • My child is able to scream louder than most other children.  It’s a gift.
  • Little one had the start of a double ear infection and possibly rotavirus.
  • Poor guy has been miserable, but is starting to get better.
  • All children’s medicine should be in dissolving strip or dissolving chewable form.
  • I thought LOST was supposed to have no repeats. So disappointing to sit down to a repeat.
  • Flipped over to American Idol and saw Jasmine and Jorge get the boot. I’m good with it.
  • I like Danny. Who is everyone liking?
  • Spring Break is next week- lake here we come!

WFMW: Buying Diapers…

Like anyone with a little one, we go through a lot of diapers around this house! They are so expensive, but so necessary. I’m also cheap frugal, so wanted to find the least expensive way to buy diapers. For most of my little one’s life that would have been at Sam’s Club. You can buy a big old box of Pampers (or Huggies) for about $35 and they would last about a month.

Then I discovered that Amazon sells diapers and they qualify for Free Super Saver Shipping. Around the time the little one was about to turn two, I switched from my beloved Pampers Cruisers to Luvs. They work really well for him, are still pretty soft, and they smell good (well, when we first put them on anyway ;) ).

So, at the beginning of each month I order a box of diapers (Luvs size 5- 150 in the box- $33.99) and they are delivered to my door. Can’t beat the convenience and price.

Diapers delivered to my front door for a fairly good price works for me!

Sunday Scripture…

Saturday, Part Deux…

I’ve had a crazy week this week, so I haven’t posted all week. I know all two of you are so disappointed. I had some sort of weird allergic reaction on Tuesday night and had to go to the Urgent Care and have been on steroids and antihistamines all week. I can’t even take a Tylenol without getting sleepy, so needless to say, the antihistamine knocks me out. Between doctor appointments and work and passing out because I’m a medicine wuss, I haven’t been able to finish my Saturday post. And again, I know all two of you have been waiting with bated breath. (Oh, and can I say wuss on my blog- or is that offensive? J)

After crazy tornados on Saturday and the Great Jelly Incident ’09, the fam got ready to go meet my parents for the afternoon. We live about 2 hours from each other, so we decided to meet in the middle for lunch and a little hang out time in the afternoon. We met at Applebees and my dad and I had this:

Oh my gosh, was it yummy. We talked about it all afternoon. Ha!

Then Dan and I had the bright idea that we could take the kids to play at Chuck E Cheese, since it had been so rainy outside. They could play and we could hang out a little longer. Yea, that place is a zoo! It was especially crazy on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The kids of course had a ball.

We got completely saturated with that place just in time. It was in a bit of a shady neighborhood (aren’t most CEC- or is that just me?). Anyway, all of a sudden a group of people start hollering and getting in each others’ faces and then jump over a little wall with everyone screaming ‘take it outside.’ So, that was fairly exciting and sad. I mean, grown people getting in a fight at Chuck E Cheese on a Saturday with a bunch of kids around.

So, we ditched CEC and headed to an outdoor mall, so I could get the kids Easter outfits.

I don’t know what my rush is with the Easter clothes, but I just loved that patchwork design at Children’s Place, so I went ahead and got the shorts for little one and the tie for D3.

After a bit of shopping, we went to get the kids some ice cream (ha- and ourselves) . Yummy.

WE then said our goodbyes and headed home.

Last Sunday we ended up with at least 4 inches of snow and this weekend it is supposed to be in the high 70s. Crazy southern weather for you! J

Have a great weekend!!
