Happy Birthday, you’re two!!

My baby is two!!! And I can’t call him a baby anymore… because he’s really not. He is a becoming quite the little boy!

He woke up this morning ate breakfast and actually wanted to open his presents. He had no desire whatsoever to open presents at Christmas. I guess he learned there were cool things in those boxes.

Safety first at our house. He opened all of his presents sitting on the kitchen table.

We did colorful birthday cupcakes this year. We sang to him at lunch and he actually blew both candles out.

He however was freaked out by the cute sprinkles I put on the cupcakes and dumped his upside down and only ate the cake part. What kid does that?

Our house looks like a toy store exploded in almost every room. Between D3′s birthday on the 17th, Christmas on the 25th and little one’s birthday today, we’ve accumulated a lot of toys!

On December 27, 2006, I gave birth to a sweet, big baby boy. He was born at a whopping 10.2 pounds and was 22 ½ inches. He was such a sweet little newborn that did not want to wake up. He would hardly open his eyes for the longest time.

Then he became a sweet little baby that had a hard time sleeping. My sweet man didn’t sleep through the night until he was 11 months old. I was a very tired, but very happy Momma.

He has brought such joy and laughter into our lives. He is a funny little boy. He always keeps us laughing.

He is so spunky and holds his own with his older brother.

He is also our loving little boy. He is always ready with a big hug and kiss.

It has been a joy to be the Mommy of the boy with the big blue eyes… otherwise known as Blue around this blog.

Happy Birthday, kiddo!!

Merry Christmas!!!

“For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given…
 And he will be called
 Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
 Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Random Updates…

My cute little snowman from my Christmas Home Tour has been decapitated. L So it goes living with a two year old.

So sad, so sad.

Speaking of said two year old, he has not asked for one of these in about 2 weeks now.

He’s talking up a storm, but his naps are rough. At least he’s sleeping well at night.

I just finished reading the Twilight saga.

I’ve been living with Bella and Edward and Jacob for so long, I’m not sure what to do now. J

The Christmas Pageant went very well on Sunday. I was a little nervous about it, but there was no reason to be. It turned out to be very sweet. D3 was a wise man this year. Our three wise men cracked me up. They did great during the performance, but during practice I did a lot of grinning and head shaking. J

 Merry Christmas Eve!

One Silent Night…

The Sunday Scripture that I chose yesterday was Mary’s Song from Luke 1. I am so intrigued by Mary. I think it comes from having two December babies.

I absolutely loved being pregnant at Christmas time. I thought of Mary so often while I was 9 months pregnant with my boys. She went through the same things that I did. She felt Jesus’ kicks and flips in her womb. She got to know him so well as he grew in her. She traveled a long distance when ready to give birth, when I was waddling around close to home. She gave birth in a barn when I was in the hospital with lots of help and an epidural. What amazing faith she had and what a very interesting life she was able to lead.

My favorite CD to play every Christmas is One Silent Night. I’m not sure that you can even get a hold of this CD anymore, but I love it. A lot of the songs are from Mary’s perspective and right at the birth of Jesus. All of the songs are sung by female Christian artists and it is just beautiful!

I have been so stressed the past several days, but I’m trying to slow down these days before Christmas and stop the Christmas stress. I want to remember what we are celebrating. Santa is a lot of fun and I love, love that tradition with the kids. But I want to make sure I have my focus on Mary’s boy child.

Sunday Scripture…

“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!”

Mary’s Song

And Mary said:
   ”My soul glorifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
 for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
      holy is his name.
His mercy extends to those who fear him,
      from generation to generation.
 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
      remembering to be merciful
to Abraham and his descendants forever,
even as he said to our fathers.”

~Luke 1:42-55
